The official release of, 'Scout's Christmas Adventure,' will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 between 3:00-4:30 pm as a public event hosted by Emmet O'Neal Library in Mountain Brook, AL.
This free event in the children's section of the library is open to the public and children are of course welcome!
Children from across the Southeast submitted their own art work and story ideas for the main character, Scout, featured in, 'The Christmas And,' and in 'Scout's Christmas Adventure.'
The books were read at interactive classroom activities where each student was encouraged to write their "own book" about Scout.
This wonderful lesson is a great interactive teaching tool for schools and home school groups.

Alabama-based book retailer, Books-A-Million, welcomed Jack L. Mauldin's work, "The Christmas Ant," with signing events, meet-the-author oportunities and shelf placement at central Alabama stores.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in Memphis, TN, held an event to accept donated copies of, "The Christmas Ant."
Dr. Mauldin partnered with the Edie Hand Foundation to provide enough copies of the book for every inpatient child.

The latest book by Jack L. Mauldin, "Scout's Christmas Adventure," is set for release in October 2017. The easy-reader builds on the title character, Scout, who was introduced in Mauldin's book, "The Christmas Ant."
Smith's Variety Store, the well-known half-century-old novelty store in Mountain Brook, AL, hosted author Jack L. Mauldin at two events where his book, "The Christmas Ant," was featured.
Dr. Mauldin was invited for a day-long book-signing and invited again to participate in a children's play day, where several children's authors and their books were presented.
Jack L. Mauldin interviewed by, "Birmingham Time of Your Life," host Bob Mosca, about his children's book, "The Christmas Ant," and how he came up with the idea for the book.
The segment also features Bob's grandson, Richie Poff, who helps by giving us his review of "The Christmas Ant."

The formal book launch was an event open to the public and news media. It featured cookies with sugar crystals baked just as they appear in the book's illustrations.
Author, Jack L. Mauldin signed copies and donated several to the library's children's book section. A copy was also placed in the archives of Alabama authors.
